IBGE Seminar highlights history and contributions to Bahia

The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), in contiuation of the celebration of its 90th anniversary, delivers, this Tuesday, the seminar My Bahia, My Brasil, Our IBGE. The event is intended to highlight the history and the contributions of the IBGE to the state and will be attended by the president of the IBGE, Marcio Pochmann, and of the IBGE superintendent in Bahia, Andre Urpia, among others.
The event will be held at the auditorium of Banco Central, in Salvador, loctated at 1ª Avenida, 160, Administrative Center of Bahia (CAB), at 9 am. The seminar will be streamed on Digital IBGE.
The seminars are also scheduled to take place in other states and reinforce the concept that characterizes this 90th anniversary: “My State/ My Brazil / Our IBGE”, highlights the history and the contributions of the IBGE to each Brazilian state.
Each Federation Unit will host a seminar, with an approach that values local experiences, the work of officials and the partnership with regional institutions, evidening how the IBGE builds itself nationally based on state singularities.
The State Thematic Seminars will cover nine thematic areas reflecting the diversity and the complexity of the activities developed by the Institute over it history: Administration; Collection; Dissemination; Geosciences; Partnerships; Surveys; State Superintendencies and Branches; Technology; and Training and Education.
