Ball in the goal: different names for a national passion

Football, pelada, baba, racha, rachão. The names may be distinct in different parts of Brazil, but playing soccer is really a national passion. Released in May this year, the data from the supplement of sports of the PNAD 2015 showed that soccer was the major sport discipline practiced in Brazil, gathering 15.3 million fans.

Despite the positive influence of the renowned Brazilian professional soccer, with teams that allure crowds and reveal players, most of this people who likes to run after the ball do not aspire to a professional career. For them, gather old friends, make new friendships and have a lot of fun is as good as scoring a goal.
