O National Index of Civil Construction (Sinapi) calculated by the IBGE, recorded a change of 0.52% in July, being 0.06 percentage points below the rate of the previous month (0.58%). The cumulative index in the year was 2.65%, and, in the last 12 months, 4.01%, a result below the 4.07% recorded in the last 12 months. In July 2017, the index was 0.58%.

The national cost of construction per square meter, which was R$ 1,089.46, in June 2017, changed to R$ 1,095.09 in July, being R$ 563.69 relative to material, and R$ 531.40 to manpower.

Materials recorded the biggest change in the year, 0.88%, a result above the indexes of June (0.56%) and July 2017 (0.28%).

Workforce recorded a change of 0.13%, with a decrease both against the previous month (0.61), and against the July rate (0.90%), 0.48 and 0.77 percentage points, respectively.

The cumulative indexes in the year were 2.79% (materials) and 1.86% (workforce). In the last 12 months, the cumulative indexes were 3.59% (materials) and 3.19% (workforce).

South Region records  biggest monthly change

With the collective agreement in Paraná, the South Region recorded the biggest change in July, 0.92%. In the other regions, the rates were 0.42% (North), 0.48% (Northeast), 0.43% (Southeast) and 0.53% (Central West).

The regional costs, by square meter, were: R$ 1,079,35 (North); R$ 1,019.82 (Northeast); R$ 1,145.63 (Southeast); R$ 1,137.63 (South) and R$ 1,100.46 (Central West).

Paraná records biggest increase

As a result of the adjustment established in a collective covention, Paraná, with 1.94%, recorded the biggest monthly change between the states.  Followed by Acre (1.80%) and Mato Grosso do Sul (1.66%), which had collective agreements signed. In the states of Maranhão and Sergipe there were also adjustments in professional categories.
