National Index of Civil Construction changes 0.38% in June

Computed by the IBGE, the National Index of Civil Construction - Sinapi changed 0.38% in June, standing 0.08 percentage points above the rate last month (0.30%). The result of the last 12 months stayed at 3.86%, below the 4.52% recorded in the immediately previous 12 months. In June 2016, the index was 1.02%.

The national cost of construction per square meter, which in May closed at R$1,042.69, changed to R$1,046.68 in June, being R$536.28 relative to materials and R$510.40, to labor force.

The share relative to materials remained stable (0.01%), whereas it rose 0.34% in the previous month. On the other hand, labor force increased to 0.78%, well above the rate in May (0.26%).

As a result, the first semester of the year closed at just 0.96% in the case of materials, while labor force rose 2.89%, rates significantly lower when compared with the cumulative indexes in the first six months of 2016, in which they hit 4.23% and 7.10%, respectively. In relation to the last 12 months, materials stayed at 1.47% and labor force, at 6.50%.

 

Central-West Region records highest monthly change

Influenced by the rise in the share of materials in its states and by the change in labor force in the Federal District, resulting from a collective work agreement, the Central-West Region reported the highest regional change in June: 0.82%. The results in the other regions were: 0.36% (North), 0.01% (Northeast), 0.45% (Southeast) and 0.70% (South).

The regional costs, per square meter, were: R$1,054.96 (North); R$972.30 (Northeast); R$1,093.07 (Southeast); R$1,083.13 (South) and R$1,051.36 (Central-West).

 

Acre registers highest rise

Acre registered the highest monthly change (2.82%), due to increases both in the share of labor force (5.29%), as a result of salary adjustments from collective work agreements, and of materials (0.79%).

Acre was followed by Santa Catarina, Rondônia and the Federal District, with 2.70%, 2.19% and 2.13%, respectively, also under the impact of adjustments due to collective agreements.
