Costs of civil construction rise 0.34% in April

The National Index of Civil Construction - Sinapi increased 0.34% in April, below the rate of 0.52% registered in March by the IBGE. As a result, the costs of this sector accrue a rise of 4.95% over the last 12 months and of 1.50% in the year.

The cost per square meter of this sector increased to R$1,130.67, being R$590.15 relative to materials, which rose 0.33%, and R$540.52 relative to labor force, which increased 0.36%. This value had been R$1,126.82 in March. 

The expenses in construction, per square meter, were of R$1,135.07 in the North, R$1,050.49 in the Northeast, R$1,180.74 in the Southeast, R$1,175.96 in the South and R$1,131.69 in the Central-West.

According to Augusto Oliveira, manager of the survey, the collective work agreements increased the costs with labor force once again. "the agreements in Amapá and Maranhão stood out, taking the North and Northeast to hit the highest rises this month".

Influenced by the rise in the labor force, Maranhão reported the biggest increase in the construction costs among the states (2.75%). It was followed by Amapá (1.81%), also involved with increasing expenses with professionals.
